Many people start with a blog without giving it much thought initially. They want something that is easy to setup and is free.  Majority of you will either turn to BlogSport or Wordpress blogs.  Both are good, easy to setup, and very easy to use and customize.

Some people will discontinue their blog usage after sometime and some people will continue to use their blog for a long time to come.  And one fine day they might realize that their blog has become more popular and important to them then they once anticipated, and they wish they had installed their blog using a custom domain name.
At this stage, many people ask us if they can use their blog with a custom domain name.  Yes, it is possible, and is quite simple too.

All you need to do now is book a new domain with your hosting company that you wish to use with your blog, suppose it is xyz.com and create a CNAME record for it to point to ghs.google.com. The exact procedure to do this would vary from registrar to registrar and if you are not sure contact your hosting provider and they should be able to assist you with this. Once your DNS has been updated, you will need to update your Blogger Settings. If you are publishing on BlogSpot you will see nearing the top offering you to switch you to a custom domain. You need to click this link. The BlogSpot address setting now changes to your domain. You need to fill in your new domain here and you should be done.

However, if all this seems too complicated, you might as well just contact us and we would be glad to assist you setting up your blog using your custom domain name.
